Wedding Photography Agreement and Release

This Wedding Photography Agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into between Narrative Imagery (referred to as “Photographer”) and the undersigned client(s) (referred to as “Client”). By signing this Agreement, the Client acknowledges and agrees to the following terms:

1. Scope of Services

The Photographer agrees to provide wedding photography coverage as outlined in the selected wedding package. Coverage begins and ends at the times agreed upon prior to the event. Any additional time requested on the wedding day will be billed at the Photographer’s standard hourly rate.

2. Assumption of Risk

The Client understands that participation in a wedding photography session may involve certain risks, including but not limited to uneven terrain, weather conditions, crowds, lighting equipment, and the use of props. The Client voluntarily assumes all such risks and agrees to hold the Photographer harmless from any resulting injuries, damages, or losses.

3. Model Release

The Client grants the Photographer and their legal representatives and assigns the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs from the wedding for editorial, trade, advertising, social media, website, portfolio, and any other lawful purpose, in any manner and in any media, worldwide. The Client releases all claims to profits, royalties, or other compensation from such use.
If the Client wishes to restrict usage of specific images for privacy reasons, this must be requested in writing prior to the event.

4. Copyright, Ownership, and Print Release

All photographs and digital files remain the sole property and copyright of the Photographer. The Client is granted a personal print release, which allows printing and sharing for personal, non-commercial use only.
The Client agrees not to sell, alter, or submit images to contests, publications, or vendors without written permission from the Photographer.

5. Digital Files and Social Media Usage

The Client may post digital files online for personal use. The Client agrees not to apply filters, crops, or edits that alter the Photographer’s work and agrees to credit Narrative Imagery when sharing on social media.

6. Payment Terms

To secure the wedding date, a non-refundable retainer of 25% of the total package price (or as specified in the invoice) is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due no later than two weeks before the wedding date. No images will be delivered until full payment has been received. Accepted payment methods include Cash, Check, Venmo, or Zelle.

7. Cancellation, Rescheduling, and Postponement

The retainer fee is non-refundable and serves to reserve the Photographer’s time exclusively for the Client’s wedding date.
If the wedding is postponed or rescheduled, the Photographer will make every reasonable effort to accommodate the new date. If unavailable, the retainer remains non-refundable.
If the wedding is canceled entirely, all payments made beyond the retainer will be refunded only if the cancellation occurs at least 60 days before the wedding date.

If the Photographer must cancel due to serious illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, all payments (including the retainer) will be refunded in full, and reasonable efforts will be made to help the Client find a replacement photographer.

8. Venue and Vendor Rules

The Photographer will abide by all rules and restrictions of the ceremony and reception venues. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that photography is permitted at the chosen locations and that the Photographer is granted access and sufficient time for coverage.

9. Liability and Equipment Failure

While all reasonable care will be taken in the performance of this Agreement, the Photographer limits any liability for loss, damage, or failure of photographs to the return of all payments received.
In the unlikely event of equipment failure, data corruption, or unforeseen incident beyond the Photographer’s control, every effort will be made to recover or re-shoot portions of the event if possible.

10. Image Delivery & Editing

Edited images will be delivered via an online gallery within 6–8 weeks after the wedding date. The Photographer retains full creative discretion over image selection and editing style.
RAW or unedited files will not be provided under any circumstance.

11. Artistic Style and Cooperation

The Client acknowledges that they have reviewed the Photographer’s portfolio and are familiar with the artistic style of Narrative Imagery. The Photographer cannot guarantee specific poses, expressions, or moments that depend on cooperation, timing, and environmental factors.
The Photographer is not responsible for missed images due to uncooperative subjects, schedule delays, or restrictions imposed by venues or guests.

12. Limitation of Liability

The Client agrees to hold harmless, release, and forever discharge Narrative Imagery, its employees, agents, representatives, and assigns from all claims, demands, and causes of action that the Client may have by reason of this authorization, including but not limited to injury, loss, or damage to persons or property during the event.

13. Entire Agreement

This Agreement contains the entire understanding between the Client and Photographer. Any modifications or additions must be in writing and signed by both parties.
